So today is May the 4th and at my work we're having a "learn to play" event where we're going to play the X-Wing Miniature role playing game. It's for people of all skill levels and it's suppose to be a whole bunch of fun.
SO I thought that it would be fun and fairly easy on my part to do an accompanying Star Wars storytime for young kids while the teens and adults go off and play the X-Wing game. I have done this storytime thing for something like 12 or 13 years now, so I already have giveaways and prizes and activities. The whole nine yards. SO doing a storytime would be no big thing for me.
Unfortunately, I officially got the OK to do the event about a week BEFORE today, so I haven't had the longest time to advertise this thing, you know? Part of me is worried I'm putting forth all this effort for nothing because no one will come and have fun with me.
But there's another part.
See, I maaaaaay have overcompensated for my lack off time by going a bit too far on social media. I joined about 3 or 4 local garage sale sites on the faceybooks and I've really been going all out promoting tonight's event. One of the groups has 10K members! So there's another part of me that's worried that I went TOO FAR, you know?
What I'm saying is that I'm going to either have 4 or 15,000 people show up for my event tonight.
Wish me luck.
