Going Solo ...

I was going to do a double feature today. But due to an unforeseen setback (read the comments in the last post to learn more) today will be a solo feature only.

We apologize for the inconvenience. We may do a pick-up episode during the week, so stay tuned.

ON A POSITIVE NOTE we have added six free movies into pasts Church-less Movie of the Week posts that previously weren't available for free. Now Jesus Christ Superstar, Series 7, Godzilla VS Mothra, Ghidorah The Three-headed Monster, Left Behind: The Movie and I Bury The Living are totally free. Check those out in the in-between time and remember who hooked you up. I totally did.

That is all.

Steve's Church-Less Movie Of The Week ...

Yoinked from the and the ever powerful wiki ...

"God Told Me To (released in some theatrical and video markets as Demon and God Told Me to Kill) is a 1976 sci-fi/horror film written and directed by Larry Cohen. Like many of Cohen's films, it is set in New York City and incorporates aspects of the police procedural. It stars Tony LoBianco as Peter Nicholas, a Catholic police detective investigating a series of murders being committed by various random, seemingly normal assailants, who claim that God told them to kill.

Andy Kaufman appears in a cameo as a possessed policeman who goes on a shooting rampage at the Saint Patrick's Day parade — it was Kaufman's first role in any film, and the same footage was later used for the finale of a documentary called The Passion of Andy Kaufman, in a segment called "Thus Spake Zarathustra", with music by Eumir Deodato. Sylvia Sidney appears as the detective's traumatized mother.

The film is very weird and creepy, which is what you might expect to find in a movie with Andy Kaufman."

Random Picture Time ...

State Fair 2009: Third Visit ...

We saw The Fab Four last night at the state fair. It was Isabela's first concert and Emerald's third (the first being Los Lonely Boys and the second being the hard rock show before WWE's The Bash) and it was amazing! I think it was the third time I have seen them. Third or fourth. But every time I see them they just blow me away.

Awesome show.

I'm in a Beatles mood now. It feels good.

So here's some free music for your punk ass ...

Why Arizona Sucks Ass ...

We, here, the California State Fair, we get David Cook and MC Hammer and a Beatles tribute band.

Arizona, those bastards, THEY get NWA Wrestling, The Black Crows, Stone Temple Pilots and BOB FUKING DYLAN!!!

I hate that state.

Down With The Sickness ...

I'm 32 years old. That's freaking old.

So yesterday I rode the TILT-A-WHIRL at the state fair with my family. I hadn't eaten at all and I had taken TOO MUCH of one pill and NOT AT ALL of another pill. I was tired and my head was already spinning from the med haze.

So I got SUPER sick and threw up afterwards.

I got sick on the tilt-a-whirl. Me! Not the Super Mega Manly Barlinator 3,000, no, the fucking Tilt-A-Whirl.

I am so pathetic!

Fair Time ...

Church is over, four and a half hours of Pentecostal guilt and fake "speaking in tongues" and uncomfortable conversations.

Catholics, man, they're out in an hour. That's the problem I have with my wife's church. I hate going to church and the BOOM! Fucking half the day's gone. What the hell? Where did my sunday go?

anyway, we're off to the fair right now. Excited. We don't really have any money for rides and stuff. That's why we're going to walk around, learn about fire safety, check out exhibits and then I'm going to catch COUNTY FEVER! Woo!

Growing up in Arizona, I learned that the song Wild Wild West by Escape Club played at the fair EVERY TIME I went there from when the song was first released all the way to 2001 which was the last time I went.

I'll be listening for it in California ...

"Glen/Glenda Has Made Her Decision ..."

No Church-less Movie Of The Week today.

State Fair, baby.
