Steve's Church-Less Movie Of The Week ...

Yoinked from the and the ever powerful wiki ...

"God Told Me To (released in some theatrical and video markets as Demon and God Told Me to Kill) is a 1976 sci-fi/horror film written and directed by Larry Cohen. Like many of Cohen's films, it is set in New York City and incorporates aspects of the police procedural. It stars Tony LoBianco as Peter Nicholas, a Catholic police detective investigating a series of murders being committed by various random, seemingly normal assailants, who claim that God told them to kill.

Andy Kaufman appears in a cameo as a possessed policeman who goes on a shooting rampage at the Saint Patrick's Day parade — it was Kaufman's first role in any film, and the same footage was later used for the finale of a documentary called The Passion of Andy Kaufman, in a segment called "Thus Spake Zarathustra", with music by Eumir Deodato. Sylvia Sidney appears as the detective's traumatized mother.

The film is very weird and creepy, which is what you might expect to find in a movie with Andy Kaufman."

Just got a text from my wife. She says I need to go after church and wait with Isabela until their "music class" gets done with.

Shit, man. Might as well just go to church.

I'm really liking the creepy 70s killer cop new york vibe that this film has. I really like it. Especially the beginning with the sniper.

But I'm pretty sure I'm going to church.

I'll have to pick this up later...

I left at 9:45am. I'm back at 2:20pm.

THIS is why I hate church!

Anyway, back to the movie ...

The more I watch this, the creepier it gets.

What with my kids and the unexpected trip to church, this 90minute movie is taking forever for me to watch. I might not be able to make it a double feature. Sorry.

What the HELL was that movie about?

What the HELL was that ending, huh?!?
